The real Al-Aqsa mosque

Bismillahirrahmaanirraheem.

Before I share my story on my recent December trip to the 3rd holiest city of Al-Quds, also known as Batulmaqdis, also known as Jerusalem, let me share with you a few facts about Masjidil Aqsa, Masjid Al-Aqsa and The Dome of The Rock.

The u-tube clips below, though ameturish, give you some idea about which is the true masjid Al-Aqsa and which is the Dome of the Rock.

1. Jerusalem, a.k.a. Al-Quds is under Israeli occupation.

2. Within the huge compound of Masjidil Aqsa, are the (i) Masjid Al-Aqsa, on old grey/ green building adjacent to (ii) the Dome of the Rock, (the one with shiny dome) under which is the rock from which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) left his "vehicle" (Buraq) and ascended to Heaven on the night of Isra' & Mi'raj.

3. Although Israeli soldiers control all entry gates into the compound of Masjidil Aqsa, Muslims are allowed into the area. Only Muslims are allowed in.
